Amber has been found throughout the world,  but most of the sources are small and has no commercial quality material. However, each single area where amber is found is very important to science. Geographic variety helps scientists to have a better view of the whole. Moreover, amber in different places differ in age for tens or sometimes even hundreds millions of years.
Below images are from page created by Tammi L. Johnson, graduate of the University of Kentucky Department of Anthropology. They illustrate areas where amber of different age is found.
